Las Pozas-means "The Pools" in Spanish-is a fantasy land located in central Mexico's jungle. It was made by Edward James, an English aristocrat, and his close companion Plutarco Gastelum, a Yaqui Indian. They have built over 36 surrealistic structures over a 20 year period.
Edward James has had an extraordinary life before he left it to build Las Pozas. His family owned a 300 room mansion and 6,000 acre estate in England, which Edward later converted into West Dean College, now an internationally recognized center for restoration arts.
